Finding Strength and Community: Taylor Farmon's Pilates Journey at Jungle Studio Fitness

Taylor Farmon's journey to becoming a Pilates instructor at Jungle Studio Fitness is as inspiring as her approach to teaching. Originally a client looking to shed some "COVID weight," Taylor found solace and success in mat-based Pilates classes. When Jungle Studio Fitness opened its doors, she was drawn to its vibrant community and welcoming atmosphere, ultimately deciding to audition for a teaching role. "I fell in love with the vibe and community," Taylor recalls. "It was a great way to give my workout routine some variety."

"as soon as you walk through the door, you feel like you've been transported out of dallas"

Jungle Studio Fitness is more than just a gym—it's a sanctuary where mind, body, and soul are catered to with intention. "As soon as you walk through the door, you feel like you've been transported out of Dallas," Taylor explains. "The plants, the lighting, the scent, the color scheme, everything is very intentional to make you feel like your mind, body, and soul are being catered to in the space."

In her Pilates Sculpt classes, Taylor ensures her clients get the most out of their workout by programming classes that are both challenging and accessible. "I think about what I would enjoy in a class: something new and challenging but also movements I'm familiar with to continue to practice my form and intentionality," she says. "I make sure there are options to modify and that the class flows so it's easy to follow for those that might be joining us for the first time."

“It's welcoming, nonjudgmental, and no matter what class you take, it feels like you're all friends pushing through.”

Jungle Studio Fitness offers a variety of classes that complement Pilates Sculpt, including yoga, strength & sculpt, and strength. But what truly sets Jungle apart is its community. "It's welcoming, nonjudgmental, and no matter what class you take, it feels like you're all friends pushing through the movement together to get to the other side," Taylor shares.

My favorite moments are when clients tell me they feel much more comfortable in their practice and they can tell how a stronger core is making a difference in other workouts or everyday life.

For those interested in trying Pilates for the first time, Taylor offers this advice: "Just do it! Like any other workout, you may feel a little uncomfortable at first, but as you start to learn proper form and how to be intentional with your movement, you'll fall in love and be hooked."

Taylor's coaching style at Jungle Dallas is defined by connection and accountability. "I try to be transparent with my students so they know I'm right here with them," she explains. "At the end of the day, we're all human, and I never want my class to think I'm any different from them because I'm up front leading the class."

“I want to focus on growing with this studio and this community”

Looking to the future, Taylor is focused on continuing to learn and grow in her own Pilates practice so that she can better serve her students. "I want to focus on growing with this studio and this community," she says. "I know there are plenty of opportunities to develop people more and more outside of Jungle, but right now, I want to focus on growing with this studio and this community."
